Have never read/listened to this author before, but took a chance since it was a four-for-one and these were supposed to be thriller/suspense. The first two books were full blown romance with thriller as an afterthought. I don’t mind some romance and am adult enough to handle spicy scenes, but when I read/listen to thrillers, I want to focus on the thriller aspects. I don’t know what the author’s deal is, but each protagonist is a complete and utter moron and whiny. I hate girl bosses, but I hate female protagonists portrayed as completely helpless victims as well. I honestly was at the point in each book where I didn’t care what happened and would have cheered if the villain won. The narrators were not good and the only reason I finished all four was because I didn’t want to waste a credit. Each book I ended up listening to speeded up because I just wanted to get it over with.
Dying to Tell: Started out okay, but then became nothing but drawn out sex scenes. Then, it seems the author realized she was supposed to be writing a thriller and rushed the conclusion. Narrator was not pleasant to listen to.
Every Little Breath: Shouldn’t even be considered a thriller. What little of the actual story we get outside the sex scenes is not very good. Narrator was not very good.
The People Next Door: One if the better ones in the set. Right off the bat, I saw where the inspiration for this story came from and was basically a reimagining of a much better work. The narrator had this “click” when she spoke as well as “hissing” the “s” sounds. It was not pleasant.
Trust No One: This is another one which wasn’t bad, but there was definitely a lot of inspiration from/reimagining of more popular stories. The narrator was the most tolerable of them all. There were some strong points, but yet again, the protagonist was not someone I rooted for.
