Too much time is spent on explaining a overcomplicated world system and progression. To counterbalance this tediousness, character progression beyond the main character is extremely limited. The threats to the main character go from zero to one hundred, and do not match the main character’s progression, ability, or reasoning capabilities….so Deus Ex Machina is the solution.
