I was concerned I wouldn’t like this book. I generally don’t like overly violent books; however, this book does a great job of walking a line between showing the brutal nature of the Crawls and the worlds that allow this type of entertainment to thrive.
The interplay between characters is outstanding. The layers of intrigue and interpersonal dynamics wrapped in the Crawl ‘game’ makes for an addicting story that left me wanting more. I listened to the books in quick succession and plan to listen again just before the next installment comes out in February.
This book isn’t just for those that like LitRPG, I think it will be enjoyable to anyone that likes reality TV.
The narration is amazing. I can’t say enough about how well Jeff Hays does.
Lastly, the end credit ‘ads’ are hilarious!
