The audiobook actor did no research, and the book is written with so much Japanese that this is almost impossible to listen to. I know enough Japanese to find this confusing and offensive. I was thinking, “who is Tusan?” Only to discover this was a mispronunciation of the Japanese word for father.
This book contains amateur writing, poor planning (the last 100 pages are set up for a series that the author has discontinued), raped women honor killing themselves, warrior women choosing abusive housewifery over independence, and clumsy racial politics for no purpose (Indian Batman, white slavery, Chinese and African imperialism…. For no real reason).
I regret the time, money and energy I have spent on this book and wish I could have it all back.
