This is the type of post apoc I like… but less so in the broader scope of Horton “universe”

I loved that it just kinda got into the world, no need to dive deep into what happened or why, blaming groups and people and being weird about it. I like post apoc bc of the struggle and hearing how someone would specifically navigate it, not bc groups of people did a bad thing in a certain way. Realized later that there is another series prior where they do all that but got to live in blissful ignorance for a bit.

Also got the joy of a prepper story without it being a big lecture on why the prepper isn’t actually paranoid, or why the masses are overly ignorant and ill prepared or just a check list of everything they have already done. Bad guys are bad also with out being the absolute worst thing an author can imagine.

I did the next box set and didn’t enjoy it as much, but this is well worth the credit
