This was written very well, it was funny in the right places and serious the the others. It honestly hit exactly the right mix I needed to escape. Which, after the week I had, this is probably the only reason I made it through. So a very special thank you to the author for that, even though I found it later. I wish the book was longer, and covered more of the overall story. This is clearly a well thought-out series that will last several books. Each has a nice soft arc to them, so it’s not just a bigger volume split unreasonably. The author knows what they’re doing. I already feel like I know and love this family quite a bit. The characters were all distinct and felt very real while also carrying some of that whimsical comedy that happens in life or in great family vacations. And that what this was to me, a vacation. I’ll be going through all the books as soon as I can. I’d read this off of kinds but Jeff Hays did an excellent job narrating as usual and it was super fun with him reading it.
This is a hidden gem and needs far more of an audience for what this is. This beats the snot out of a lot of other LitRPG / Isekai books out there, imho.
Get it, trust me or at least your ears, you’ll thank me for it.
