I saw a lot of good reviews so I gave it a try, but I can’t finish it. The text is jarring and feels like it was sent through google translate. The author makes up random words to describe core concepts like time and distance but doesn’t bother to explain what they mean. Characters are speaking ‘common’ then swap to untranslated dialect for a single word, then back to common. This is combined with a halting, unpolished narrator and and ultimately dull story that is so poor at explaining the world that they put you through multiple, full on undiluted SCHOOL HISTORY LESSONS and you have a mediocre book. I’d give it a pass for something else.
