The humor found in this dark new intergalactic game show is a welcome change to the more coothe and bland books I have read in recent times (many being books of the year in some). It is also a very gripping and oddly grounded and satisfying story. Carl as a character does a great job being a link between our world and the dungeon they are trapped in.
Overall I’d say this is what can be achieved with a good performer and a good story!
