This book tries to do a lot of different things at the same time, and it suffers for it.
It’s a scifi fantasy setting in a “not japan” country with supernatural samurais, family and political drama, a bit of a vigilante plot, greef and generational trauma. And for me, it didn’t work most of the time.
The characters I found not enjoyable to follow, and it make me disconnect from the drama, wich is a big part of the plot.
To add flavour to the world, the author uses a lot of fictional words for time or distances, but as an audiobook it only serves to distract and annoy.
It also has an “extra plot” at the end to try to hook us into the next one, but it’s done poorly, with lots of exposition to cram as much info as possible at the very end of the book.

A subpar YA novel very influenced by the tropes and clickes of both the YA and anime genres.
