Soundbooth Theater knocked it out of the park. Beautiful production.

The world is an amazing modern dystopian/noir cityscape. It’s vaguely reminiscent of Shadowrun, and I really dig it.

The magic/game system the author built are amazing. There was never an information dump, but it’s obvious the author put a ton of thought into it. I never felt like random rules came out of nowhere to save the main characters.

The story was basic and relatively predictable. Both the main characters were pretty likable. Wolf’s character drew a little too much attention to his puns — it’s fine to make puns all the time but it was a little much to include lines like “… get it, heh!” after every one of them.

The female MCs are both fun. It was a little weird that the whole book took place over 3-4 days, but both the women are head over heels in love with Wolf after only having met him in the beginning of the book.

Overall, it looks like there are three complete books already published on Royal Road. I’m cautiously optimistic, especially after the last few lines of this book. I’ll pick up the next one after SBT publishes the audio for it
