The basic premise for the ‘transported into another world/video game’ is at least somewhat novel, and could be interesting. Which is the only reason this gets 2 stars. Everything else about this book is so dull and boring, I only kept going because of all the 5-star reviews. The other negative reviews of bad language aren’t wrong, but that doesn’t bother me. What does bother me is the absolutely mind numbingly boring stat dumps that go on forever, and the extremely overly detailed, yet somehow non-descriptive narrative at times.
No character growth, the ‘rpg’ system might as well not exist (the story would be better without it). I wouldn’t believe any of the 5-star reviews.
Jeff Hays and Annie do well with the drivel presented with them, but the sound effects were a bit much at times.
