I had high hopes in the beginning.

This started out great with a unique scenario. I liked Jack and his clever villainous actions. I looked forward to him acting worse and worse. I also like how he was basically human with the ably to live as a god in his realm. I also really liked how he was able to talk his why out of anything. Those scenes were really well done by the author.

I just wish he had not gradually become more of a typical heroic figure by the end. The story also had a very typical “boss battle” at the end that was reminiscent of must super hero movies.
