Annie Ellicott narrates the entire female cast in this book and she performs flawlessly. Jeff Hays and Soundbooth Theaters knock it out of the park too. I felt like Hugo Huesca leaned into the darker side of LitRPG in this book, rather than shying away from it. And, thank goodness! That’s kind of this series’ selling point after all. Anyone wanting an overpowered, goody-two-shoes protagonist should, uh, __***__ / vacate the premises immediatley.
Dark. Grounded. Solid. “Dungeon Lord: Otherworldly Powers” (a.k.a. The Wraith’s Haunt, book 2) impresses. I’m hoping book 3 is a tad bit longer–just not at the expense of editing. Keep up the ‘no fluff, no filler’ thing. It’s working. Readers recognize! Book 3, here I come!
