The Dungeon Crawler Carl series is the weirdest, best way to play an rpg. Matt Dinniman’s writing is fantastic and Jeff Hays really brings the story to life. I love the depth all Dinniman’s characters are imbued with in the Dungeon Crawler Carl series and really feel I’d thoroughly enjoy reading his books with my eyeballs. However, after hearing his books narrated by Hays, I feel like my own brain would never do the writing the justice it deserves on its own. This addition to the series rounds the overall arc of Carl and Princess Donut even further into an adventure you hope never ends. Carl is getting more revolutionary and Donut is getting more expressive (read sassy, vulnerable, mature). Ok, I can’t say more, really. I’ll ruin it. Let Matt and Jeff tell the story the way it should be told: in audiobook format. I feel like you won’t regret it, even a little bit.
