I’m not new to teotwawki stories they comprise about 3/4 of my library actually.
One of the things that attracted me to this book was the strong female character who was groomed by her father to survive. No spoiler intended but at the first real conflict the “heroine” collapses into the protection of a man she hardly knows. REALLY? Anyway …..
The too much of the book is about violence. Yes, the gangs rule the new world, they are brutal, they will get killed by the good guys. This includes motorcycle gangs and DHS thugs but do we need a literal blow by blow description of a grown man beating a teenage girl to death and then how he washes his hands? This one was not for me. A waste of a credit.
