First of all, I have to compliment the writing itself. Things are described. That sounds basic, but in a genre that defines itself by describing stat blocks instead of environments, atmospheres, people, creatures, emotions, and ambiance…this instantly stood out and made me unbelievably happy.
Jeff Hayes, as always, knocks it out of the park.
The plot was fresh, interesting, and kept me on the edge of my seat. Could not put it down until it ended and I instantly purchased book 2.
