The first thing I want to write is that the narrators were excellent. Granted, they didn’t have the challenge of voicing the opposite sex, which is sometimes the only weak point I find in a narrator. But the two leads were able to bring so much personality into their performances. I want to seek out other books they may have narrated. The supporting characters were good too. There wasn’t a weakness in the cast. The narrators drew me into the story and were even able to make me feel I was there alongside them, listening to the seagulls, watching the ocean waves and seeing them make each other smile.

As for the story, obviously it’s not based on a reality we know. But if you just accept the premise – go along for the ride – it’s a cute, uncomplicated love story. These are two people who bring out the best in each other, There’s no “bad behavior” that causes conflict or emotional anguish or brutal pain. Even the “bad” guys aren’t all that bad.

So, it’s not deep. But it’s not shallow either. It’s just enjoyable and I loved it.
