I can see why this book was free and I still thought it overpriced. the narrators voice was grating on the ears especially when she tried to do the children’s voices. The writing was terrible and made these women appear weak and helpless. I figured out where this was going within the first half hour. the only reason it managed to pull two stars from me was because of some of the interesting facts in it from turn of the century (1900) Chicago and New Orleans. otherwise I spent a lot of time while listening angry about how these women thought and acted. they spent way too much time lightheaded, weak, and helpless relying on the stronger women around them to support them.
