The narration and sound production are phenomenal. I’m not even a gamer, and I have loved the world and characters. Dinniman brings imagination, humor, and a keen self-awareness about the absurdity, short comings, and incredible potential of a game-inspired world canvas. I also love a plot I can’t predict, which happens numerous times in each book of this series. It is a delight to not know where the story is headed! Again, the writing and story are great, and the narration sends it.

The other couple of LitRPG series I’ve read have been plagued by 2 dimensional women, who are over sexualized and as a woman who knows no 2D women, I get bored/annoyed at the poor imagination /trope pretty quickly. It kept me from reading this series for over a year. This book does not suffer the same foolishness! Characters – regardless of gender – are flawed, interesting, weird, and easy to both love and roll your eyes at.
