If It weren’t for the fact that I really like Phil Thron as a narrator (mostly from Space Team) then I would have given up on this book about half way through. I love the story, don’t get me wrong, Ij just think its belabored in unnecessary references, complex mechanics for its game world, and stuff that doesn’t really work very well in audiobook format. Once he actually gets going though I enjoyed the story a lot, but it was hard to get to that point. I hope the next book skips all the unnecessary complexity stuff and just gets to the narrative. Honestly this might have been better without any of the litrrpg bones just the lore of a general fantasy where a crab gets turned into a sapient creature.
