3.5 – As an audiobook experience, this is a 5 stars. But the story takes an interesting concept and makes it feel like a caricature of itself.
I appreciated so much how this book was produced and narrated. From the duet-style narration, to the sound effects, it really brought the story to life.
Unfortunately, as cute as this story is, the execution made me feel like I was watching a kid’s tv show with its level of whacky. I know some people are going to vibe with that, but it took away from it. The dialogue also felt too dumbed-down when it came to the attempts to be profound and reflective.
A ton of fun, but not a lot of substance. I recommend it if you want to experience the full potential of what an audiobook can add to a story.
