I thought the heroine acted really silly and immature. The authors use the common and annoyingly stupid trope of her trying to act independently when we all know she is not capable of defending herself or solving her problems on her own. Also, what is it with authors having the women try to save everyone by giving themselves up? We all know how that ends and it makes them look so dumb even if things end up working out.

The reader’s voice pitches very high sometimes which made the heroine seem spoiled, childish, and incapable of adult decision making. I had a hard time thinking of her as intelligent or independent and that is exactly what we are told she is.

I am going to read the book. Maybe my perception of it will improve. One thing is that I bought both Audible and Kindle versions so neither Amazon nor authors lost money from me. Haha.
