Gave the second book a try after fighting my way through first of this series. I thought the writing was good but the overly dramatic male narrator and vitriolic premise of the novel nearly killed my conflict averse heart. Thankfully the level of conflict in this novel suited me better and the characters were significantly more intelligent and likeable. I’m glad I continued with it despite the rough start.
