~ it needs to be said I got the audiobook, I’m not sure why maybe adhd lol, but it’s always been difficult for me to sit still and physically turn pages in a book but I listen to tons of audiobooks usually one or two a week. Last year, I listened to 154 books~

I don’t have patience for a storyline that doesn’t work. This one absolutely did!!

I want to say a couple of quick things. The first is I had read about this book that it starts off really slow. I never got that. Is it action action action from the first page no but the author doesn’t drag out the beginning any longer than he has to and it’s not boring by any means it’s just setting up the story.

The second thing is I never played Dungeons and Dragons or table RPGs really at all, I have dabbled in Magic to Gathering, that being said I still greatly enjoyed how the author strung together magic and items to defeat bosses in creative ways. The achievement unlocks were really recognizable from any modern-day game as well. Also, his use of strength power ups, Mana, debuffs, etc. were spot on.

The main character is his pompous, yet down to earth, cohort Donut (the cat) is perfectly written. And the whole book plays out like you’re in a game

It very much gave me ready player one vibes. Thanks so much for the recommendation. I see there’s more books in the series. I’m jumping to book two ^👍🔥
