So many stories either neglect the importance of, or lack the skill to articulate, the little details. Instead filling every sentence with “he said” “she said” ad nauseum.
I won’t lie, I love the over the top boombastic style of the Extinction Cycle, but for a grounded story that gradually unfolds and slowly sucks you in as it does so, with an actually believable story, this tale is without comparison. Narrating is done well and very easy to listen to, but nothing remarkable. The story does the lifting and the two together make this a must-read for anyone into apocalypse stories.
