I have listened to all the Black Ocean stories so many times and definitely love them all.
this one, I love because of the secondary characters more than anything else. I love Wesley Wesley and watching how Tiffany grew from a whiney teenager to a villain without completely losing herself.
seeing Kubu grow up was absolutely wonderful as well. loved him from the start of Galaxy Outlaws. seeing him in this story and getting a nice conclusion to his story made me very happy. I’d love to see a story based on him and his adventures across the galaxy someday too.
now we get to Esper. I listened to this story in spite of Esper not because of her. I was so over her “my way or no way” morality by the end of Galaxy Outlaws but I wanted to listen to everything. I definitely don’t regret listening to this story. the most enjoyable part for me was when Esper had no magic for a couple books. Allowed the secondary characters to really show their stuff.
overall, I recommend this story to everyone who loves the Black Ocean. well worth it
