This has been my favorite series this year, having gone through many Lit RPGs. I love a good anti-hero story and the fact that the protagonist is an increasingly sentient monster rather than a hero, makes it all the more funnier.
Out of all the shenanigans the author crafted in this series, my favorite is the naming convention with the god of chaos. Really sticking to the theme of chaos, the sheer fact that his/her name is different every time he/she is mentioned without the characters realizing it had me rolling on the floor. As a listener, this was a clever and subtle breaking the ‘4th wall’ tactic for an audiobook I greatly appreciated.
