The first sections of the story is rather hard to get through, I find myself bored between the switching back stories & POV, and a few writing decisions for obvious battles to come in the novel has left quite a sour taste in my mouth. Alongside contradictory behavior of some characters…, Unfortunately, I had to drop the series after chapter 17, & the summaries I read following suit make me glad I didn’t waste any more of time!
I’m rather disappointed this was highly recommended and it fell quite short, the narrator had a rough, cringe start in terms pronunciation of Japanese words/syllables, but he really got into his groove of things & alternating voices for characters after 4-5 chapters.
