I just finished the fourth novel in the series. I found the plot impelling and the characters entertaining. Towards the end, I began to lose interest in the two main characters, their lives having become too predictable. I tend to enjoy complicated plots, and characters, and so paid closer attention to Caleb and Michelle. Although I like the surprise twist in the plot with Michelle, I did not like how she was dumped out with the trash in the end. She goes from a sweet, effervescent character who shares all she has with her poor friend Mercy throughout growing up. She makes a mistake that is nothing compared to some of the depraved activity of the others, and becomes threatened to an inch of her life, thereby, turning her into someone with severe anxiety complex who will stay hidden away and miserable for the rest of her life. Not fair! I pray to the great author goddess to wave her magic pen and create a new life for Michelle and perhaps Caleb to bring them back together, and somehow create redemption.
