The stories are mostly interesting and different enough from one another to avoid monotony. I adore Joel Leslie, but the accents for the second novel are really confusing: sometimes it’s a bit like an exaggerated Louisiana accent, and other times, like somebody making fun of an Eastern Asian accent. I would rather a more neutral and less ambitious accent, as I can’t get into the novel with so many incongruous accent elements involved. Otherwise, no regrets on reading this series.
