What an impressive start to an amazing new series written by the wonderfully talented Adriana Locke, and one of my favorite authors, one that never disappoints. The first book in her new “Landry Security” series is Troy Castelli and Dahlia Lovelace’s story, a grumpy sunshine, workplace romance and it has the perfect balance of drama, witty banter and humor, heartfelt emotions, steamy romance and a side of mystery and suspense. Dahlia works with Troy, and as his personal assistant, she keeps him in check and on his toes, always trying to get a smile out of his grumpy, over protective, sour puss. Ford, Troy’s boss, wants to put him on an assignment that he rather not work, so he has the option to take a long overdue vacation, something he never does, but he is considering. When he learns someone is threatening Dahlia, he jumps on the case, and the Landry’s send them away, to stay off the grid while they investigate who is behind the threats. The chemistry between these two is undeniable, but it is all about keeping it professional for Troy, though it will become more difficult to deny themselves while staying together, twenty-four seven. I loved the complexity of these characters and it was great to learn more about them, who Dahlia’s father was and why he was not in her life and why Troy is the way he is. I was rooting for Troy and Dahlia and it was a pleasure to watch their relationship grow and morph into more. The investigation keeps you thinking and wondering who is behind it and why, and it gets pretty scary there for a while, but thankfully Troy is good at what he does. Adriana Locke, thank you for another amazing story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 CJ Bloom and Connor Brown were the perfect cast to bring these characters to life, and they did so with a complete understanding of who they were portraying, giving each a voice that was fitting. I loved how they took their roles and made them their own, sounding believable and just as I imagined the characters would sound. Bloom grasped all sides of Dahlia’s personality, showcasing her sunny demeanor perfectly, and Brown was just as amazing as Troy, perfectly grumpy, protective and swoon worthy. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling each one. These two are entertaining storytellers and their performance elevated this already amazing story to another level. Thank you for another fabulous listen.Â
