Audiobook – My Darcy by Lily Morton

Narrated by Joel Leslie

I’ll admit I was initially thrown off by the author’s accent (intentional or no), but it took only a few minutes to settle into their flow. It simply was my first audiobook with an accent.

The story is ridiculously cute. A nice short read and listen. Freddie and Darcy are the best of friends, despite being practically the opposite of one another. And though this plot only has Austen as a background inspiration, Darcy’s character is very subdued in a similar way as Mr. Darcy in Pride and Prejudice.

Joel Leslie provides a fantastic narration of Lily Morton’s novel; very animated and smooth. Although there were a few moments where it was difficult to track which character was speaking, the story was so much fun I listened to it twice in a short time frame. The MCs are funny and work off one another well, and the side characters that we interact with are hilarious. Meddlesome as well, but in the best way. Do take the time and absorb this quick fun read or audio, you’ll enjoy it.

I received an authorized copy of this audiobook and am volunteering my honest review.
