Started out good but within a few books it took a turn

For thr most part the series started well. However there are some things in the story based off of the background of some of the characters that were absolutely not believable. One may argue that the choices were due to the change in the world but with the training and background the author gave to some of the characters, their actions are absolutely opposed to that.

There are other characters whose backgrounds and knowledge were very believable and their actions fully supported it but the damage from the discrepancies of the others made this a very disappointing series ultimately.
