Interesting story sadly ruined with one dimensional stereotyped characters and political judgments. poor people are obviously lazy or bad or stupid. Women without husbands to guide them are silly and make bad judgments until they learn the error of their ways. Men who are not preppers or weren’t raised in the country don’t have anything to contribute. People on food stamps are just too lazy to grow gardens etc… Every time a character spout ed one of these ridiculous stereotypes it would throw me out of the story. It’s a shame the author didn’t have a good editor. It kind of reads like a middle-aged white men’s fantasy apocalypse in which all his opinions are validated, women apologize for not respecting him, and everyone ends up singing his praises. Left me irritated.
