I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The story develops slowly and deliberately contrasting current accounts, flashbacks and some context. I found the characters to be well developed with no real holes in their respective stories and they are varied enough they connect with multiple people.
The story focuses on characters not the events surrounding them in the wider world.
The narration is fantastic keeping you immersed throughout. The characters are well defined and their was no confusion as to who was speaking. The narrators voice is easy to listen to.
In summation this book is a great foray into the Post Apocalypse genre if you haven’t dabbled before this is a good place to start. If you are already into the genre then this is another good addition and a credit to its genre.
