Good book, meh hook.

I enjoyed the book, but there was a few odd hiccups in audio like being able to hear intakes of breath or odd pronunciation of words. Nothing immersion breaking, but not quite as good as the first. the actual card game mechanic I just felt no real interest in despite being an avid card gamer. DCC has been fantastic at foreshadowing and hiding information, but when someone just busts out a card no-one knew existed, it’s not exciting, i just got a feeling of “ah, so that can happen I suppose”.

That all said, I have greatly enjoyed the series and will be grabbing the next ones as they are available.
