This is my least favorite of the series. The first book was WOW, the second book was INTERESTING, and then this one reminds me of the Coyote running after the road runner. There is a moment when he has run over the cliff and hangs in the air thinking WTF did i just do… well thats how I feel. I sitting here wondering if I listened to a different book than everyone else.

Honestly, the reviews I’ve read on Audible and Goodreads are better than the actual book for me.

I know the Callihan junkies are going to pound me with dislikes for this one but I’ve got to be honest.

This book follows some of the series concepts as the others. There are lots of murders, lots of cursing, some good sex scenes, and drugs. What makes this one different is the author didn’t make me feel like this was real. Even fantasy books have to make the reader feel like they are really there and the actions/rules of the world created make things believable in the mind.

This book has Liam and Melody destroying the FBI and bitch slapping the president while running for a political office themselves, and killing witnesses to their crimes. The author just tells you these things are happening. But to pull something like that off it would take deep critical planning that these two don’t possess. Not to mention the time. For me the necessay details weren’t there.

I love books were we root for the bad guys. But there was a point in this book were I wanted someone to kick Melody’ s ass. I didn’t care for her.

I guess I wanted more international mobsters and take overs. The Callahan family taking on the Mexican cartel and other large Criminal families. Instead we got the politics things.
