I want to start off by saying I like this author I follow her on instagram she is super creative. Super fun! I mean she got me to get this book and I do not pay for books other than Goodwill or library.
Props to her to how she promotes her stuff.
I love that there’s not spice.
It was a little difficult to follow along granted I was kind of reading it when I was free, not all in one go, but I just felt confused most of the time. And I would say I’m normally pretty good at figuring out what’s going on but I think some of the language didn’t have enough explanation.
The tropes are there and there’s a lot of potential I could see why a lot of people may like this book but I felt like the main two characters were just really annoying towards each other. They didn’t really have a real reason to not like each other. They just kind of did it because it was like immaturity and ego ? Ok … they kinda didn’t like each other and now they kind of do.?
I will give it props. The topic is pretty for all the imagery with the flying. That’s pretty neat so what it did well was the world building and how it set up where they were and who was there I had such a vivid picture in my eye so super amazing at world building and action kept me on my toes . I don’t think I would be able to get through the second one with how much I just really don’t like any of the characters. Definitely not like anything I’ve ever read before very original and its own thing just as much as it pull from familiar and loved themes.

I would say if you’re on the fence about reading it going sometimes things will be polarizing and that’s OK
