A different approach for a prepper’s book. I liked that it didn’t immediateIy go into the end of the world but led up to it through entire another story line. I was very happy with this audiobook. I wasn’t sure as it began, I got confused for a bit when it kept going present day or three years ago. It made me listen a little harder and go back a few times. It certainly was important to have that three year back story to understand as the book progressed. It explained how Dave was able to do the things he had to do. It also explained the weakness he seen in Mike. I felt that Dave was a little violence weary by the end as he had to constantly be in the ready to fight mode.
Mike was developed very well as the story went on. I liked how he did what he had to that fact that Dave underestimated him.
I also liked the fact that the women characters weren’t made to appear weak. It was actually the opposite. This was a good and refreshing story. I did like the how it brought attention to the human trafficing issue and how it can just happen.
The ending was epic to have to go through all they went through only to find out that something happened when they returned to their vehicles. I’m looking forward to the second book, please make it soon. It was an awesome lead into the next book. Again looking forward to the next one.
As usually Kevin Pierce delivers a perfect narration, he is one of my favorite narrators. Keep him for future books.
