Morningwood takes a unique interest in the inner workings of a monster as it levels up and leaves the confines of it’s dungeon. A number of reviews of this book call it out for being boring, going nowhere and having a childish sense of humor. It seems many of these reviewers didn’t bother to finish the book before judging it, or perhaps they are just to types of readers who consider themselves above a book like this. Honestly Morningwood is fantastic at being exactly what it seems to be trying to be, a raunchy romp through the RPG experience as seen from a newborn monster’s perspective. If you don’t like boob jokes, turn away. If you’re looking for the next Tale of Two Cities, look elsewhere. If you’re a fan of old RPGs, D&D and the like who just likes a fun story, welcome home! This whole thing really does sound like someone’s amazing D&D campaign transcribed as a book. I really enjoyed it!
