An future apocalyptic wasteland that has erased most of the world’s technology and population. It creates a medieval setting with some modern things thrown into it, it is a fun setting for the story plays out. A trek across Europe to save infertility issues plaguing the remaining human population. You get battles with mutates animals, bikers gangs, lack of food and internal conflicts. It is filled with set pieces and battles, if you are a fan of action there is a ton to experience throughout.
The narration by Jeffrey Kafer is very good. He provides lots of unique voices for everyone, and is always great at the heroic characters. He varies all of the voices and personalities well, and has a nice pace at which he reads.
If you are looking for a fast paced viking adventure this will please. What is not to like about a main character that can take on mutate polar bear as a child? The book sets up a future conflict and new places that will be explored, and leaves you interested in what is next. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.
