Life reset

As usual mr. Hays puts on a great performance, I’m quoting from a summary for another of his books

“Dungeon Lord: The Wraith’s Haunt: A LitRPG Series”

“Jeff Hays as a One Man Theater” is a very apt description of the voice talent he brings to the table. Often accompanied by his array of sound effects and or natural/digitally altered voices flesh out a vast array of characters easily. Reading a book by this performer really makes following: difficult, tedious, or even often boring (sad to say) a real joy to listen to over and again.

Shemer Kuznits (love the name) is our author for this novel. This is the first book of this author I have had the pleasure of listening to and I enjoy their writing style. It reminds me of Blaise Corvin and Aleron Kong MD. This story reads a lot like these two series (if you have had the pleasure, if not, THEY ARE ALL WORTH THE CREDIT) this book is no exception to the rule here. This is my take away from it on a numerical scale of 1-10

Originality: 6
Language: 8
Humor: 7-8
Details: 10
Plot hooks: 7

This is another litRPG (like always for this type of book) that has: detailed descriptions of items, character sheets, abilities, racial/economical/spiritual world building, action when needed, talking when needed. All in all its a decent listen. Longer than most (sitting at 20+hrs) in the series except Vasily Mahanenko’s “Way of the Shaman” at least for my audible collection. The originality for this comes from the main character turning “into a bad guy” by being sucked into the world (cliche) to become a bad guy uber npc (semi-original). As always the human base is some bad ass super human in one way or another and gets fused to the system. A lot of people complain about this but honestly … how else do you explain someone being sucked into a video game besides just not saying anything…

All in all it is a good read, a lot of laughs, some new ways of explaining magic and you get to see life from the side of a goblin caster which to me just screams that someone played World of Warcraft … a lot … if you have an extra credit and like Jeff Hays, then buy it. Definitely not top of the pile material.
