I really, really loved everything about this book. Joel Leslie puts in a masterful performance, but it is just the icing on the cake of a great story. This is based in an AU where Angelus (Angel) is the only necromancer in New England. That is because a group of vampires killed his entire family, except for him and his brother. Even though he is only 5’7, he packs a powerful punch and everyone fears him b/c he alone killed the mob of vamps that attacked his family. No one knows how he did it. He has a strained relationship with his brother and hates himself for what he has done with his magic. He also find out that Simeon, a red haired Celtic vampire, has been in love with him for some time. Their growing relationship is part of the story, but the other part is trying to find out who is trying to kill Angel. It is a great story and Joel Leslie really brings it to life. Highly recommended.
