What I liked about its predecessor was that it was an innocent story where people were being nice to each other with no sex and violence. It reminded me of Heinlein’s “Juveniles” which I grew up on. This one is much more reminiscent of Heinlein’s “Time Enough for Love”. Not a love triangle but a love pentagon with much too much attention to how our hero’s butt looks, which doesn’t interest me.
The sample chapters are about rescuing an abused woman by hiring her on as crew which I liked but it quickly devolved into a story about dressing up to go to meat market bars for a fling. Not my cup of tea. I’m not offended, just not interested.
