I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

So, this one left me with some mixed feelings… on one hand, it was gritty and your typical zombie apocalypse story (generally a good thing to me) but on the other hand, it does a bit of it’s own thing… (again, generally a good thing to me) with the wife following the main character around. That part was pretty interesting and upped some of the creep-factor for me. Where it lost me was with the Hannah character. I liked her, but she was so completely unrealistic in her sniper-like shooting and soldier-like situational awareness…it just didn’t seem to fit for me. Don’t get me wrong, the book is well narrated and was very entertaining, but it was kind of short and that one character’s abilities just had no source that the author chose to address. My imagination can certainly accept the fantasy in a book, but I want it to be at least marginally explained… again, that’s probably just my own personal hang-up, so take that with a grain of salt.
