Xavier Neal gets all hot and bothered in her book, Waiting. Harper and Tate’s age-gap romance is spicy! Tate makes it clear to Harper that he wants her. Hottie who can dirty talk in three different languages? Yes, please! But recently divorced Harper can’t seem to get past the age gap. She’s also still dealing with all the emotions that come from divorce and doesn’t put a lot of faith in love anymore. The story is solid and intriguing, with perfect flow. The characters are well-developed, relatable, witty, and interesting. I absolutely adored Tate’s big family. It was easy to see where he gets his charm and humor from. I thoroughly enjoyed watching them navigate this new and almost forbidden relationship. They grew as individuals, which served to strengthen their connection. I laughed, swooned, and fanned myself. This story has the perfect amount of romance, humor, and spice. You won’t be able to put it down!

I’m a super lucky girl; I was able to both ARC and ALC Waiting. This story was even better the second time around with Charlie L. Wood and Christian Leatherman narrating. Their timing, pitch, pace, and tones are exemplary. Tate and Harper are such unique and interesting characters. Charlie and Christian really captured their personalities. Their characterizations were spot on. The smeggsy times in this story are very steamy and romantic. They delivered those scenes perfectly, easily making me blush. Their performance flowed smoothly and effortlessly. They really brought this story to life. After both reading and listening, I can honestly say you should listen to Waiting versus reading it for an even better experience.

I was able to ARC this book (gifted to me by CandiKane PR in exchange for an honest review) before it was released. Then I got to proof it through Pink Flamingo Productions, in which I’m employed as a proofer. And then I got to listen to this finished product when DS Promotions gifted me the audiobook in exchange for an honest review. I’m so grateful to DS Promotions for allowing me to experience the audio version of Waiting. This was the first time I’ve listened to a finished audiobook where I had a part to play in its production process. I’m honored to have played a role in this and hope others will enjoy this as much as I did.
