I’m pretty sure that most of my enjoyment of the book rests largely in the hands of narrator Joel Leslie

This book is definitely not for everyone as both MCs are insufferable, childish a$$holes who constantly need their egos stroked, and like many “alpha” males in these stories blithely bathe in the tried and true misogyny that “female” characteristics are the worst insult ever. I barely made it through their d!ck-centric games of one-upmanship.

However, the book does get more bearable after their first face to face encounter and as you learn more about their backstories. Additionally, the witticisms and snarky banter of the MCs are pretty funny (minus all the woman-bashing). And frankly, the sex is pretty hot. While the characters are never really likable, towards the end, they at least become more relatable and gain some depth so that the ending redeems the terrible beginning.

And I cannot stress enough that Joel Leslie really elevated this for me. I was so amused by his spot on douchebaggery voices for the characters that I couldn’t help being entertained even when I almost hated the story.
