It’s probably accurate to say this book is more of the same, but since it’s more of the same book that had me snickering, laughing uproariously, smirking, and facepalming my smiling face….I’ll take it! The fourth-wall breaking is some of the most clever you’ll see (Deadpool, eat your heart out), and there are some impressively fun scenes described to delight any superhero fan. My only negative note is that some of the family themes came off a bit didactic and predictable, even presented in the Shadow Master’s inimitable fashion.

Jeffrey Kafer did a stand-out job with the book, as he has in everything I’ve heard him in! Voices are distinctive, character and tone are well-established through expressive choices.

Hope to see a third book soon!
