The good: Kevin Pierce does a good job with the narration. Consummate pro.

The mediocre. The book is short. Too short. So short you never learn the details of the fight at the beginning. It felt like being short changed or ripped off. You can end on a cliffhanger…that is a time honored thing in a serial, but starting with a cliffhanger and just leaving it unresolved at the end feels lame. This whole book had a lazy, phoning-it-in sort of feel.

The bad. The plot. I could never believe the bad guy or any of his crew. Like an anime villain that had taken bad acting classes and flunked out. To say the plot strains credulity is a massive understatement.

I’ve listened to multiple other books by the author, but this one was just sad. I won’t be continuing the series. I award it no points.
