This book has all the tropes with non of the exhilaration. I came for a bit of mindless fun that I’ve come to expect from a genre book like this, but this was like being bludgeoned with cliche after cliche with no charisma.
Things you can look forward to:
1. Minor recaps of what you just read a chapter ago.
2. A villain that is just monster with no personality or morality except the evil alien.
3. People incessantly shouting war cries for no reason whatsoever.
Don’t waste your time. Dig deeper and find another book. Maybe read Old Man’s War again.
